USAT Youth and Junior National Championships

On August 5th, 2018 USAT held the annual Youth and Junior National Championships in West Chester, Ohio and two members of the club participated to see what the event was like. It was a very hot and humid day but we saw kids from all over the country competing in the race. The open water swim was a mass start by age group and so was a good learning experience vs. the pool swims we are most used to. At the finish, they had inflatable pools filled with ice to cool off in as well as great post-race food. We liked it so much that we think that the whole team should try it out! We hope that we will be able to make it happen next year. Another added bonus is that the race location wasn't a far drive from Cedar Point - Roller Coaster Capital of the World! Of course we had to check that out after the race as well. We are now looking forward to the last 3 races of the season!
